We had a great day at the Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey today. The pupils looked fantastic in their outfits! They took part in four workshops: Women in Wartime, experienced what it was like during an air raid, met Mr Jones and learnt about rationing in his shop and prepared to be evacuated to the countryside. Pupils were also set a special task during the day and had to work out which on of the four characters were the spy! Mr H
Look out for the Kingswood display coming to a corridor near you soon....
Heathlands singing the morning chants...defying gravity!
Look out for the last set of Kingswood photos on Tuesday! In the meantime, have a go at this survey....
Year 6 have had another fantastic day! We headed off this morning to Morston Quay for the seal trip! The pupils were so lucky to see so many seals and in such glorious weather! After eating a packed lunch, we then travelled back to the Kingswood site and completed four activites this afternoon! Three of the groups got to fly down the zip wire. It was fish and chips or lasagne for dinner tonight and then the pupils took part in a scrap bottle challenge. They have been packing/stuffing their cases and have just two activities left for tomorrow morning- sad times! We are aiming to leave around 1pm and arrive back at school at approx. 3:30pm. Please check the school website/board outside school for any changes.
It has been a pleasure taking the year 6 pupils to Kingswood and seeing them achieve so much in just 5 days!! We are all very proud of them and I'm sure they will have many stories to tell you all. Mr H
