As always, it has been a busy and purposeful few weeks at Heathlands, with lots to celebrate across the school community.
Firstly, a huge thank you to Evelyn, who did a fantastic job as Headteacher for the Day. She approached the role with confidence, enthusiasm and great maturity, and it was a pleasure to see her leading parts of the day so brilliantly. Her choices of a non-uniform day and a hot-dog/pancake combination made her a very popular Headteacher! She was a real credit to herself and to the school.
I would also like to thank Mr Hassard and Mrs Sandford for running the Year 6 SATs information evening for parents. It was really positive to see such good attendance, and I know families found the session helpful in understanding the arrangements and how best to support their children over the coming weeks.
A big thank you as well to Mrs Cranfield, Mrs Nakum and Mrs Howells for organising the Year 3 Stone Age Experience Day. The children had a fantastic time and were fully immersed in their learning. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and curiosity, and the day was both highly informative and great fun.
Our Innovation Centre continues to take shape, with the next stage now underway. This phase focuses on introducing more purposeful furniture and creative resources to support flexible working, creativity and collaboration. It is exciting to see the space evolving and beginning to be used.
We are also extremely grateful to our PTA, who recently organised a fantastic box of new equipment and resources for every class. These have been very well received by both staff and pupils, and we are incredibly thankful for the continued support and generosity of our PTA.
Finally, as we head towards the end of this half-term, it’s hard to believe that in just two weeks we will be halfway through the school year. Thank you, as always, for your continued support — it really does make a difference.
