Dear families,

What a wonderfully busy fortnight it has been at Heathlands! From sporting success to splashes of yellow (and yes, I wore the tutu and roller blades), there's been so much to celebrate. Here's a round-up of everything that's been happening, along with a few dates and details to keep an eye on as we head towards the end of the year.

Wear Yellow Day — What a great success! Everyone looked amazing in yellow! Thank you to everyone who donated. We will share the final amount raised once finalised. Our Act of Worship this morning was all about tolerance and acceptance, linking to our special day.

Platinum Sports Award — Achieved once again! A fantastic achievement, and a huge thank you to Mr Minter, all our staff, the children who have taken part, and the parents who have helped with lifts and supported our many events again this year.

Sports Day — Next Wednesday (see below for timings). Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help the PTA . If you are unsure of any details please check the letter that was sent out yesterday. We look forward to seeing you there.

Interactive Whiteboards — A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for organising the fundraising events to fund new interactive whiteboards in our classrooms and school hall. These will have a really positive impact on learning. We are repurposing some of the older boards into other spaces around school, and the new boards are being installed next week.

Colour Run — Over 100 children have already shown an interest in this as a way of saying thank you and goodbye to Mr Minter at the end of the year. Planning is underway, and a sign-up form with more details and timings will be sent out soon. This will be a fundraiser for our school, with funds going towards making our staffroom a space worthy of our fantastic staff, and any extra money going towards updating our sports equipment and other spaces around school.

Reading Picnic — Miss Philpott is organising a reading picnic for families (see below). It's a chance to come in and support us in promoting reading for pleasure.

Wear Yellow Day — What a great success! Everyone looked amazing in yellow! Thank you to everyone who donated. We will share the final amount raised once finalised. Our Act of Workship this morning was all about tolerance and acceptance, linking to our special day.

Mobile Phone and Air Tag Policy — This has now been ratified by the governors. We have a policy of no air tags or smart watches, and mobile phones in UKS2 are collected and kept safely in the office for the day.

Staff Leaving — Miss Smith will be leaving at the end of the school year. We thank her for all of her contribution to Heathlands during her time here. Whilst we will be sad to see her go, we wish her well in the next steps of her career. Mrs Auty and Mrs Nevin are also both leaving at the end of the school year. Mrs Auty is beginning an exciting new career, and we are grateful for the energy and commitment she has brought to our school. Mrs Nevin is moving to a school closer to home, and she will be missed for the warmth and care she has shown the children in her time with us. We thank them both and wish them well in their next steps. Mrs Nevin will still be invovled with the school as she plans to carry on running her cheerleading club.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and as always, thank you for your continued support.
