We’ve reached the end of a long and incredibly full half-term — one that’s been packed with learning, creativity and community. From acts of worship and Harvest celebrations to sports fixtures, trips and creative projects, the children have thrown themselves into everything with enthusiasm.

I’d like to thank all of our staff for their continued energy, commitment and teamwork, and our families for the support you give every single day.

I hope you all enjoy a well-deserved rest over the break and return ready for the busy run-up to Christmas.

School Captains

I'm very proud to introduce Summer and Issac, our School Captains this year, and Lilly and Aiden, who are our Vice Captains.

I'm looking forward to working with them and our Pupil Governors to further improve our school.

Class Dojo Updates

Thank you to all our parents who have signed up to Class Dojo — we hope you’re enjoying the weekly updates and getting a glimpse into life in the classroom. A gentle reminder that while teachers do their best to respond to messages, they are often busy teaching, preparing lessons, and managing the many, many tasks that fill their day.

Teachers will check messages once or twice a day, between 8:00am and 5:00pm. If you have an urgent matter, please contact the school office directly.

Innovation Centre

After half-term, we’ll begin using our grant to transform our main corridor into an Innovation Centre – a collaborative co-working space designed to inspire learning, creativity, and curiosity. Keep an eye out for updates as the project takes shape!

I’d love to extend this project to create a more welcoming school reception space, complete with a feature plant wall. If you know of any individuals or local businesses who might be interested in supporting or sponsoring our Innovation Centre, please do get in touch — we’d be delighted to discuss partnership opportunities.

E-Safety Tip

The CEOP website offers simple, trusted guidance for families on how to keep children safe online:

Office Hours

Just a reminder that the school Office Hours are 8.30am to 4.00pm each school day.

Attendance

Attendance at school is still a focus this year. We have started well, and we currently have an average attendance rate of 95.9%. This is good, and I would like to see this maintained or even improved. Currently, Bonsai Class has the highest attendance rate of 97.1%!!!

Lost Property

Please label your child’s school jumpers, cardigans, coats etc. The lost property box is overflowing! If your child has lost some uniform please come and look for it in the front reception.

Dogs

Dogs are not permitted anywhere on the school site, unless they are an assistance dog or Gabe, our school reading dog. This includes the school office and staff car park areas.

Dogs are, however, allowed on The Heath, as this is not part of the school grounds.

Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep our school environment safe and comfortable for everyone.

A Change in the Weather

After half-term, please ensure your child brings a coat or jacket to school every day, as the weather is becoming colder and more unpredictable. We’ll still be heading outside for playtimes and outdoor learning whenever possible!

Learning Conferences

A huge thank you to all parents and staff for your patience and understanding during our parent consultation evenings this week. We experienced a few technical issues with the new booking system, which resulted in some double bookings and minor delays. We really appreciate everyone’s flexibility and good humour while we worked through these — thank you for your continued support.

Healthy Snacks

Can we please remind you that your child should bring a Healthy Snack to school each day. Lollipops, nutty nougat and pancakes with chocolate hazelnut spread inside ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Please remember that we are a nut free school.

PTA Crazy Hair Day - Cancelled

Please note that the PTA crazy hair day will not be going ahead.
