TUESDAY 21ST AND WEDNESDAY 22ND JUNE - CBSSP AND CPSL KWIK CRICKET

On Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd June, Heathlands took part in the CPSL and CBSSP Kwik Cricket competitions. The children taking part were excited to get the chance to play competitive cricket having worked hard at their club at school and when visiting West Bergholt Cricket Club. The teams played well and made great progress over the course of each day; it was particularly pleasing to see the confidence build in those that have not played competitive cricket before. It was also good to see children supporting one another and the members of other teams during games. Well done to all of those involved.

THURSDAY 17TH MARCH - CPSL FOOTBALL MATCH VS KELVEDON

Heathlands 0 - 1 Kelvedon

On Thursday 17th March the football team awaited their toughest league game yet against Kelvedon. The game started with lots of Kelvedon pressure but the boys of Heathlands defended extremely well, also having the odd counter attack. Just before half time the concentration dropped and Kelvedon scored.
Heathlands started the second half strongly and soaked up a lot more pressure, playing better football as well. We were fighting strongly to try and find an equaliser, but we ran out of time. The boys were disappointed with the result but pleased with the way they played, particularly in the second half, and look forward to their two remaining league games.
Congratulations to the girls who won their match at the same time - it was nice to get to watch the last five minutes and see how much you have improved this year.

ST HELENA YEAR 5 & 6 NETBALL COMPETITION

Heathlands win St Helena Year 5 & 6 Netball Competition!

On Tuesday 8th March our superb netball squad travelled to St Helena secondary school to participate in a netball tournament. Unfortunately, a few schools were unable to attend due to other commitments so the four schools that took part were St Johns Green, St Georges, Kendall and of course Heathlands.
In the first game that we played, both Heathlands and St Johns Green played excellently; after eighteen minutes of hard work, grit and determination we won with a score of 8-1. Also, Amy had her second hat-trick of the season!
In our second match, which was played against St Georges, there was a lot of excellent play from everyone, although we were blown away by Claudia in particular. Although she favours playing in defence we were stunned when time and time again she frequently scored—nine times in a row to be precise!
In our last match, which was against Kendall, everyone played politely, yet slightly competitively; we were very pleased to have beaten them with a score of 10-0.When all the games had been played, we were invited over for the much awaited results. We were delighted to receive the title of first place! We were overjoyed at this announcement and the squad went to receive their medals.
Well done to all the opposing teams, you played brilliantly and we had a really great time. A special thanks to all the mums that transported and supported the squad.

Despite the terrible conditions, we all kept going and showed a lot of resilience, we even scored a few tries!
Overall, Heathlands played exceptionally well and both teams managed to come third in their groups. This meant a Heathlands Vs Heathlands match! At the end of our final game we all congratulated each other. Everyone improved a huge amount over the afternoon.

Everyone who took part enjoyed the experience and thank you to all the parents that helped.
