News from the Music Department
It has been another busy term for our musicians. Y 3 have all been learning to play the recorder, and they do sound amazing. A huge thank you to Mrs Ruddock from Essex Music Services who has been coming in to teach them. These skills are transferable to flute, oboe and clarinet, as well as teaching our young juniors how to read music.
On Saturday 14th June the school choir sang to open West Bergholt Village Summer Fayre and made a super job of all their songs. Thank you to all those who came and supported us, (and what an improvement in the weather this year!)
Instruments wanted.
To help our would-be instrumentalist we do hire out some instruments for our learners, however we are in need of a flute or two. If anyone has an old flute they would be happy to donate we would be very grateful indeed.
How do I learn an instrument at Heathlands?
Lessons are available in woodwind, piano, brass (via Essex Music Services), guitar, ukulele, violin and singing. If you are interested in your child having lessons do please either email Mrs White on: sarahwhite@heathlands.essex.sch.uk or add your child’s name to the waiting list in the office where there are further details regarding costs etc.
