In 2023 he became the PE and Sport lead, a role that allows him to teach PE across the school as well as increasing the opportunities for children to attend clubs and represent the school in sporting events. Heathlands has become a leading school in the area for the PE and Sport that is offered, something that has been recognised in receiving the Key Stage One PE and Sport Physical Activity Mark, and the School Games Platinum award.
