How We Raise Money

How We Raise Money

Like most PTAs, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. We also apply for Grants and are lucky to have a number of companies who regularly donate towards our events.

Whilst our fundraising varies from year to year, we do have some regular events in the calendar, including our ever-popular Hollyberry Fayre, Spooky Disco, Summer Fayre and Non-Uniform days. Other events we are looking into include World Book Day events, Plant Sales, Quiz Nights, Christmas Cards, Chocolate Bingo, Sponsored Walks to name but a few

Volunteers

We always welcome any help parents and carers can give us. There are lots of events during the year, both large and small, and their success relies on the assistance of volunteers! If you would like to be involved in anyway, please do not hesitate in contacting us.

Give As You Live & Easyfundraising

Give as you Live and Easyfundraising is an affiliate scheme. It works in much the same way as a comparison site, with the retailer paying a commission for sending people to their sites – only in this case the commission is passed on to a charity of the consumer's choice, in this case Heathlands PTA

Match Funding Scheme

You will hopefully be aware of the fantastic work your PTA are doing to raise funds for Heathlands school. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about the match funding scheme and how a little bit of your time could raise double the funds for the PTA.

If you work for an organisation that has a match funding policy, any money you raise could be matched by your employer. Companies may match the fundraising total for an event, or for the stall that their employee is working on. Usually, the employee will need to supply them with a letter from the PTA detailing the date and nature of the event, together with the total raised.

We understand that the high street banks, building societies, supermarkets and large corporations are likely to do match funding, but these schemes are not exclusive to the major corporate giants. If you work for an independent company, they may be interested in charitable giving through match funding too.

We would be grateful if you could see if your employer has a match funding scheme, or if they are willing to match fund any of our events. If you can’t help out this time, but you know the company you work for has a match funding policy, please let us know. This could be a really large source of income for the PTA and help us raise money for Heathlands.

If you are able to help us this way, please let us know and we can discuss your companies’ requirements.

How We Raise Money

Like most PTAs, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. In 2020 and 2021, unfortunately most of our fundraising activity was curtailed due to restrictions imposed as a result of the covid pandemic, but as of January 2022, we are thrilled to be back with our calender of events.

Whilst our fundraising varies from year to year, we do have some regular events in the calendar, including our ever-popular Hollyberry Fayre, Spooky Disco, Summer Fayre, Non-Uniform days and Fun Runs. Other events we are looking into include Cinema Nights, Race Night, Christmas Cards, Chocolate Bingo, Sponsored Walks to name but a few

PTA DONATION SCHEME

We have been thinking creatively on how certain fundraising events can go ahead since the start of the pandemic, but alas most of our usual events cannot take place in the same way.  Therefore, we have launched the PTA DONATION SCHEME. The donation scheme is voluntary, and we are grateful for any contribution towards our PTA charity that you can give.

For example, if we received 200 donations of £5 we would raise £1,000. If this was once a month, we would raise £12,000 in a year

You can find this scheme on the School gateway App
