Vision and Values
Heathlands is a Church of England School, with a strong Christian ethos, which underpins the caring, nurturing family feel of our school. Our strong focus on innovation, care and respect for each other, alongside the commitment to Christian values, is reflected in the inclusive vision and relationships between children, families and staff. The school, church and parish council are a pioneering community based on the village history - innovation is a vibrant aspect of the school and village. Bergholt literally means “wood on a hill”. This is the underpinning of our school vision -
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Shine your light before all men that they may see your works and then praise your Father in heaven”. Matthew 5 v14.
With high expectations and Christian values
at the heart of our ethos, we INSPIRE and
value individual, independent learning so
that everyone in school is able to be the
best that they can be. Placing children at the
centre of everything we do, we encourage
pupils to be INNOVATIVE whilst learning from
a rich and vibrant curriculum.
This ensures that children discover and develop
skills and understanding across a range of
stimulating subjects - making links to our
LOCAL and GLOBAL community - particularly
with our partner school in Kenya.
Our INCLUSIVE school community celebrates
diversity and works together with families
to prepare our children to be CARING and
CONFIDENT members of society.
